3-year-Training in Dramatherapy 2017 – 2020

run by the Institute for Theatertherapie in collaboration with the University of Applied Sciences in Social Work, Berlin (KHSB),
Dramatherapy is one of the four forms of arts therapy (in addition to music, dance and art therapy). The action-oriented application of artistic means and processes allows a fruitful cooperation between the original healing function of theatre and the methods of modern psychotherapy.
The focus of this training is on physical theatre, body-oriented therapy and the performance process in dramatherapy.
In the first year of the training the focus is on the use of body and movement as the tool of theatre and as essential part of the therapeutic process.
The second year focusses on the transformative power of theatre and controlled processes of change.
In the third year concrete applications in theatrical-therapeutic field will be studied.
The participants will be enabled to use theatre therapy as a method of arts therapy with individuals, groups, teams and organizations.

Prerequisites for participation
Training /relevant experience, preferably in social, artistic, therapeutic/medical fields or in organizational development and human resources management is required.

Minimum age 25 years
Participation in an introductory seminar or an individual interview – 60 hours of personal therapy (can/should be completed during training)
As the training program is conducted in German, a substantial knowledge in German is essential.

A certificate of KHSB and the DGfT entitled “Arts Therapist /Theatre Therapy” will be awarded.

Mona Rauscher: MA Drama and Movement Therapy (Sesame Institute, London), Psychological Psychotherapist/Psychoanalyst (C.G. Jung Institute, Berlin). Therapeutic Work in Drama and Movement in clinical contexts, schools and psychosocial institutions since 2004.
Daniela Debald: M.A. Performance Studies, Philosophy and Pedagogy, Drama Therapist (DGfT reg.) with clinical and systemic specialization. Dramatherapeutic Work in clinical psychiatry and psychotherapy since 2010. Artistic Work as Actor and Singer.

2,520.00 EUR per year (without supervision, accommodation and meals), to be paid in quarterly instalments
